Brownie Base:
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Cheesecake Layer:
– 16 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Caramel Topping:
– 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
– Chocolate curls (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. For the brownie base, mix melted butter and sugar in a bowl until smooth. Add eggs and whisk well. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until combined.
3. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
4. For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the partially baked brownie base, spreading it evenly.
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheesecake layer is set and the edges are slightly golden.
7. Let the cheesecake cool completely in the pan, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
8. Before serving, drizzle caramel sauce over the top and garnish with chocolate curls if desired.
